you know the type... always going on about how their car got possessed by the devil because someone left a pack of cigarettes in it.
or maybe their pots and pans started flying around the house because they bought something from a garage sale.. there are also the types who won't eat skittles because they contain an ingredient made from dried and crushed beetles... which means that they were not properly bled.. and the types who won't let their kids watch cartoons because the animals talk... like satan did with the snake.. then there are they types who are always into the latest get-rich-quick scam... or amway and trying to get everyone in the congregation to buy something.. oh, and don't get me started about the demon possessed smurfs who run around kingdom halls swearing and accosting the women with their teeny-peenies.. what's up with this!?!?
Yeah, every congregation seems to have one or more of these personality types.
But, in fairness. After leaving the JW's, I've attended different types of churches, particularly fundies. I was saddened to see the same personality types there as well.

i've been here 2 years and posted over a year trying to be supportive of everyone but some things are even too obvious for even me to not see.
Plm: I don't think we' ve ever exchanged posts before, but please understand the actions you are taking. If a couple of posters are getting to you (and it happens to all of us), just ignore their posts. Even if their posts are directed towards you. At the end of the day, you are going to turn off your monitor and get on with your life.
This board can be wonderful and frustrating at the same time. We have so many different personalities here. Quiet, LOUD, bossy, meek, caring, uncaring, and people who don't give a sh*t what they say or who they hurt. (They usually don't last too long).
But, you know what? Every Kingdom hall has the same type of personalities. Please understand that if you leave this discussion board because a couple of people can come on too strong without perhaps realising it, where are you going to go when it happens at the Kingdom Hall? Make no mistake, you still will encounter the types of personalities you encounter at this board. But remember, it could be worse because you are encountering them in real life.
Not to mention all the manditory stuff like 5 meetings a week, service, theocratic ministry school talks, service meeting presentations, circuit assemblies with hours of mind numbing talks, district assemblies with days of mind numbing and ass numbing talks.
I realise you are angry and hurt. But, please think, are the posters who hurt you really worth changing your life over?

many believe that between a fourth and a third of the bible concerns prophecy.. many believe that history shows that god's unerring prophecies of the kingdoms and empires of,egypt,isreal,judah,babylon,persia,greece and rome all came to pass in minute detail.. if his prophecies came true in centuries past,can you----should you-----believe in bible prophecy today?.
btw.we are not talking about the society but the many other religious teachers and scholars who swear by the fulfillment of bible prophecy.. blueblades
The day when the Rapture comes
The rapture is so bogus. It's based on one sentence in the bible about meeting our Lord in the air. (Wasn't it written by Paul, the same guy who said that Women have their place?)
There's nothing else in the bible that even supports this. Do people believe in the rapture from the scripture or from that dumb movie?

have you ever done a good deed for a stranger and then after, just felt odd about it for some reason?.
today i got off work a few minutes early and went to pay a bill then go to the grocery store.
but, as i was on my way to the store, there was an older man standing under a tree trying to catch my attention by waving a rolled up bill(s) and motioning for me to roll down my window.
It's a shame that there are so many people out there who take advantage of other peoples good nature. It really prevents other people who really need help from being helped.
But, unfortunatly, today, people have to be cautious about helping anybody. There are some people who just love to whine and cry and tell anybody about their troubles and to envoke sympathy, and get a handout. But, what they do with your generosity is another story. You can give and give to someone like that, but they will just take it and never help themselves.
